Public Assistance Specialist Roles and Programs
The PAS assists local governments in obtaining state and federal funding such as Economic Development Agency, Appalachian Regional Commission, RD, Community Development Block Grant, Land and Water Grants, Cops Grants, etc.
The PAS can aid Local Governments during times of Emergencies with forms and documentation for Federal Relief Dollars. Also we can help in the preparation of FEMA Mitigation Grant applications to prevent disasters.
Support law enforcement and public safety activities in state and local jurisdictions.
To provide training and technical assistance, conduct research, assist victims of crime, implement programs that improve the criminal, civil and juvenile justice systems, etc.
For critically needed resources to equip and train emergency personnel to recognized standards, enhance operations efficiencies, foster interoperability and support community resilience.
Law Enforcement Protection Program.
Body armor, duty weapons, ammunition, electronic-control devices, body worn cameras, etc.
The PAS can also provide information on Personnel Issues, Policies and Administrative Codes.
The PAS can also provide information on the State Procurement Policies, State Price Contracts as well as help with the preparation of Procurement Policies.
The PAS assists the Regional Animal Shelter in accounting and personnel issues.
The PAS facilitates training workshops in conjunction with the Department for Local Government for Budget Preparation and Administration of County, City, Sheriffs, Clerks and Jailers Budgets.
The PAS participates in the Southern and Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development Association and can attend local Chambers of Commerce and Tourism Boards as needed to promote Tourism and Economic Development in the area.
The PAS assists local governments with budgets, budget ordinances, accounting, tax allocations and other technical assistance as needed.
The PAS assists with Financial Report Requirements such as Year End Reporting requirements, Audit Requirements for Cities and Counties and Quarterly Reports for Sheriffs and Clerks.
The PAS can provide information to Local Governments about Proposed new Laws and Legislation as well as Research into existing Laws and Regulations.
