Improving the Quality of Life for Our Citizens
The Kentucky River Area Development District is a quasi-governmental agency working with city and county governments in the KRADD area to improve the quality of life for our citizens. KRADD serves as a representative of local units of government and citizens throughout the area as a communication network for cities, counties, state and federal governments

KRADD supports many aging programs such as supportive services at the Senior Citizens Centers. Then we also support 15 sites where hot lunches are prepared 5 days a week.

KRADD provides administrative assistance to three Regional Business Parks and Industrial Authorities in the area. Public Administration Specialist assists local governments.

Thru Kentucky Infrastructure Authority KRADD assists local communities in efforts to provide potable water and wastewater facilities as well as expansion of these facilities.

We support the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s long range planning process by analyzing transportation data, identifying and evaluating the needs of the region, evaluating and prioritizing projects.

The PAS assists local governments in obtaining state and federal funding for various projects. EDA, ARC, RD, CDBG, Land & Water, COPS Grants and others can be funding sources.

With the recent re-establishment of the Elk population in our area, viewing of the Elk herds is becoming quite a tourist attraction. Buckhorn Lake, Carr Creek Lake and the Natural Bridge State Parks provide camping, fishing and trail exploration.

KRADD’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Services support informed decision making by providing mapping, spatial analysis, and geographic data resources tailored for local governments, planning commissions, and regional initiatives.
